Karen Harradine, OT/L

Lead Occupational Therapist

I grew up in Upstate New York and received my BS in Biology from Plattsburgh State University.  I learned about Occupational Therapy through volunteer work and  I realized this was the field where I could combine science with creativity and the ability to contribute to the lives of others.  I went back to college and received my BS in Occupational Therapy from Keuka College in 1997.

I moved to Wilmington that year and feel grateful to live in such a beautiful and opportune area. I have worked with OT Solutions since 2007 and am proud to be a part of such a talented, caring team of Therapists.  I have two teenage boys and we enjoy doing all kinds of outdoor activities that take advantage of this beautiful coastal region.

SUSAN COFFEY CYPHER M.S., CCC-SLP

LEAD SPEECH THERAPIST

I am originally from Barrington, RI. I graduated from University of Rhode Island in 1996 with a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.  I have always worked in Pediatrics and have a special interest in working with children on the Autism Spectrum.

I am specially trained in DIR/Floortime, The Hanen Program, TEACCH model, and Picture Exchange Communication as well as sign language. I have lived in Wilmington with my husband Chris for 13 years and enjoy traveling and spending time with our 4 children and 2 grand babies. I love outdoor adventures such as hiking, camping and kayaking!

CHRISTINIA CATTS, COTA/L

I was born in Lewes, Delaware and graduated from Delaware Tech in 2015. I have had the opportunity to provide occupational therapy services in multiple school districts throughout Delaware and Maryland. This has given me experience treating various diagnosis and disabilities. In September of 2017 I moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. Since relocating to the area, I have began working with the geriatric population and am now apart of the OT Solutions therapy team.

I have had the opportunity to further my knowledge since graduation by taking courses focusing on pediatric feeding disorders, autism and sensory processing disorders, yoga as a therapeutic tool and Handwriting Without Tears.

In my spare time, I can be found relaxing on the beach, whether locally or on vacation. I enjoy spending time at the gym and running outdoors. No matter how busy life is, I will always find time to sit down and enjoy a good book.

ALYSSA CHAPPELL, COTA

I grew up in Shallotte, NC and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science and then graduated from Cape Fear Community College as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in May of 2018. I have always loved working with pediatrics and am very excited to be part of the OT solutions team.

In my spare time I enjoy the beach, playing volleyball, spending time with family and friends, and cuddling with my two pups.

ALLISON DARDEN

I was born in Monroe, NC and moved to Greenville, NC in 1998.  I attended East Carolina University and graduated with a degree in Construction Management.  After working in that field for several years I decided to go back to school and pursue a dream career as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.  I graduated form Pitt Community College in 2012 with a bachelors degree of health science in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program.  Since graduating I worked in the school systems for many years working with children of all ages in areas of handwriting, visual motor skills, fine motor skills, and sensory disorders.   Then, I decided to move from Greenville, NC in July of 2017 to enjoy the beach life in Carolina Beach, NC. I  started woking for OT Solutions, and am excited to continue working with children to motivate, challenge, and encourage them to meet all their goals.

My favorite things to do are spend time with my family, I have a 2 and a 7 year old.  I love to swim, hike, and enjoy all of the wonderful adventures of life.

KATIE DAVIS, MS, OTR/L

I was born in Hickory, NC. I came to UNC Wilmington where I earned my bachelors degree in Psychology. I returned to Hickory for my Masters degree at Lenoir-Rhyne University. After meeting my husband who had also previously lived in Wilmington we new if the opportunity to get back was there we wanted it. He got a job transfer in 2009 and we haven’t looked back. We have two beautiful children, Kynlee and Fisher, who fill our lives with joy. I have been with OT Solutions since 2009. I love my job and have a passion for children.

I have training in sensory processing, reflex integration, and visual processing. I am certified in SOS feeding therapy, Interactive Metronome, Handwriting without Tears, ALERT Program, and Bloomberg Rhythmic Movement Training

LAUREL DAVIS, COTA/L

I am a North Carolina native and have lived in Wilmington for several years. I discovered the OT profession and my passion for it while studying at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Following graduation, I pursued a degree in occupational therapy and graduated in 2013.

I have been a practicing Therapist with OT Solutions . since March of 2014-serving home, clinic, and school settings. Special Practice Areas Include:Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Delay, Sensory Processing Disorders, Epilepsy and Functional Vision Deficits.

I have specialized pediatric training in: Interactive Metronome, Sensory Integration, Hand Writing Without Tears and SOS Approach to Feeding. My hobbies include: traveling, learning new things, outdoor adventures, spending time with family and her beloved dog Cooper. Something interesting about me: I have traveled to 14 different countries and counting.

COURTNEY DICKINSON, OTR/L

Hi! I am Courtney and I have been at OT Solutions since 2010 when my family and I moved from the Chapel Hill area. We moved to be closer to the beach and we have not regretted it at all! I have 2 energetic and loving little boys and I love spending my free time with my family.

We enjoy being outside, going for walks, shopping and being at the beach! I have been a pediatric OT since 2002 and have worked in clinic/outpatient, home health and school-based settings. I have a special interest in working with children on the autism spectrum as one of my own children has autism. I have had a lot of extra training in sensory integration over the years and I am SIPT certified.

One of many great quotes by Dr. Seuss: “Don’t give up. I believe in you all. A person’s a person no matter how small.” I believe in children, parents and Therapists and that together we can all make a difference!

MARIA EBOLI, CCC-SLP

I am a bilingual (Spanish/English) and bilingually trained Speech-Language Pathologist, originally from Dunmore, PA. My Bachelor of Science degree is from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where I majored in Audiology/Speech-Language Pathology and completed extensive coursework in Spanish Language. I studied abroad in Spain during my undergraduate career, and discovered my love for traveling and learning about/working with individuals from a variety of cultures during my time there. I earned my Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, TX.  At TCU, I was trained in the non-biased assessment and treatment for culturally and linguistically diverse populations, while participating in the Emphasis in Bilingual Speech-Language Pathology Master’s program track.

My clinical experiences have been working with monolingual and bilingual pediatric through geriatric populations in the school, private clinic, skilled nursing, and medical settings.  The past few years of my career have been dedicated to working in Delaware with bilingual children with Developmental Delays and Autism.  I have specific training in Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), the Early Start Denver Model for Young Children with Autism (ESDM), and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2).

JAMIE FOWLER, COTA/L

I was born in Wilmington, NC and reside here with my wife and son Jaxon. I graduated from Cape Fear Community College with an Associates degree in Applied science of Occupational Therapy. During my last semester at Cape Fear, i worked at OT Solutions and immediately felt a strong connection to the kids, wonderful staff, and OT Solutions vision of making a difference in the lives of each child and their families.

I enjoy creating challenging, play-based activities, designed to teach life skills through the art of play. In my spare time i enjoy playing guitar, vintage cars, water activities and learning from my son how to play and be silly.

ELIZABETH GNIADEK, OT/L

I attended UNCW and graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia with my degree in Occupational Therapy in 1989. I am Southern born and bred. I  returned home to Wilmington nine years ago with my three sons, after living in Asheville and Charleston for 25 years. I have worked in a vast array of OT settings and populations over the years with my time at OT Solutions most recently centered on the provision of school-based therapies. I LOVE being a Therapist and a Mom! When not working or Momming…. I enjoy making jewelry, writing poetry, traveling and exploring new places.

DALE HARRIS, MS, OTR/L

I grew up in Wilmington, NC and moved back in March 2015 to join OT Solutions.  I graduated from East Carolina University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy and then in 2010 with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.  I have always had an interest in working with pediatrics and helping children become successful in their environments.  My special practice interests include Sensory processing, Autism Processing Disorder, and school services.  I have had specialized pediatric training in Handwriting Without Tears, The ALERT Program, and Functional School Interventions.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, visiting new restaurants with friends, the beach, and hanging out with my dog Remi.

LILA JACOBS, SLP

I received my Bachelors from the College of William and Mary and a Masters in Speech/Language Pathology from the University of Virginia. After many years working with children in the Los Angeles, Chicago, and Philadelphia areas, I am happy to have settled in Wilmington, N.C.

I have experience with specific programs such as SOS Feeding, Sensory/Motor Approach for Feeding, and Oral Placement Therapy. I have a special interest in working with children with oral motor/sensory issues, apraxia, and feeding impairments.

I am always up for a day on the beach with my husband Brad, walks with my sweet dog Barney, and frequent phone calls and visits with my two grown daughters.

JENNIFER HOLMES, OTR/L

I am originally from Southern California and moved to the Wilmington area in the beginning of 2008. I joined OT Solutions in July 2008 and have serviced clients in the clinic and pre-school setting. I graduated from Loma Linda University in 1999 with a B.S. in Occupational Therapy and have worked in pediatrics since graduating.

My special interests include: Autism and Sensory Processing Disorders, CDH (Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia) related issues, early intervention. I have special pediatric training in: : Sensory Processing, Interactive Metronome Certification, Handwriting Without Tears, Oral Motor Therapy, extensive autism training, and motor learning

BRITTANY KIRCHNER M.S., CCC-SLP

I am originally from the beautiful Catskill Mountain’s in Upstate N.Y., and grew up in Downsville, N.Y. I attended Ithaca College for 4 years earning my Bachelors of Science degree in Communication & Sciences Disorders with a minor in Deaf Studies in 2011. Upon graduating from Ithaca College, I was accepted to Syracuse University’s Graduate Program and graduated with a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology in 2013.

After graduating, I worked as a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist for and Early Intervention and Preschool agency, targeting the birth to 5 year old population. I worked in this field for 6 years prior to moving to Wilmington, along with some part time work in a skilled nursing facility evaluating and treating adults with Aphasia, Dysphagia and Cognitive deficits. My experience includes working with children who have expressive and receptive language delays, Autism, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, AAC devices, articulation impairments, fluency disorders and voice disorders. I also have a great wealth of knowledge and experience working with premature infants with feeding and swallowing delays. I follow a play base, floor time approach during my speech and language sessions and I’m a firm believer in the “Power of Play”. Outside of work, I love to bring my Dalmatian, Kiko, to the dog parks, the beach and take her out on the boat.

ERIN LIUZZO, OTR/L

I grew up in Cary, NC and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development and then graduated from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in December 2013 with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy.

My special Practice Interests include Sensory integration, early intervention, and children with Autism. I have Specialized Pediatric training in: Handwriting Without Tears, Sensory Processing Disorder, Reflex Integration, Rhythmic Movement Training, and Early Intervention

My hobbies include: attending Virginia Tech football games, traveling, reading, and spending time with my family

KRISTEN MERRITT, COTA/L

I have lived in Rose Hill, NC since birth and currently reside in the small town with my husband and two beautiful girls. I am a 2009 graduate of CFCC’s OTA program. I have been working with OT Solutions since 2010, where I provide OT related services in Duplin County Schools, which is also the county that I reside in. I love being able to give back to the children in my own community through providing OT services with our company.

I enjoy spending as much time with my family whether home, local beach, pool time, but we especially love all things Disney! I spend a great amount of time being involved with my church and giving back to the community through various opportunities.

ADRIANNE RANCK, M.S., CF-SLP

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I moved to Philadelphia where I attended Temple University and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Science in 2013. I spent a few years in Philadelphia and Delaware as a caretaker and therapeutic staff support worker for preschoolers, as well as a paraeducator in middle and high school settings. Rewarding experiences with pediatric patients led me to complete my Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Radford University in 2019.  

The opportunity to work in home, school, and outpatient clinical settings since 2013 has enabled me to gain special interests in Autism Spectrum Disorders, early intervention, and Childhood Apraxia of Speech. I am thrilled to continue serving children and families as a part of the OT Solutions therapy team. I am also ecstatic to call the beautiful beach town of Wilmington, N.C. home.

KELSEY SCHMIED

I grew up in Wilmington, NC and later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I received my BS in psychology and exercise & sport science. I first learned about occupational therapy during my junior year of college when I shadowed my best friend’s mom for a summer and I realized very quickly this is what I wanted to do with my life! I received my Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in December of 2018.

I always knew I wanted to return to Wilmington and quickly moved home following graduation with my dog Ava. My hobbies include all things Carolina basketball, going to the beach, spending time with my family, and traveling.

MELISSA N. WICKHAM,MSOS, OTR/L

I grew up in Greenville, SC and moved to Wilmington in July 2009 to join OT Solutions. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in 2004 and taught for two years as a special education teacher in a North Carolina middle school. I was introduced

to occupational therapy in the public school system and went back to school to become an OT. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in August 2008 with a Masters in Occupational Science. We live at the beach with our German Shorthaired Pointer, Fisher.

 I have specialized pediatric training in: Beckman Oral-Motor Assessment and Intervention, the SOS Approach to feeding, Sensory Processing Disorder, The ALERT Program, Therapeutic Listening, Handwriting Without Tears, Interactive Metronome, and the HOPE method for addressing sensory modulation, self-regulation, sensory-based movement disorders, and reflex integration.

General Manager

I am originally from Wilmington, NC. and now live in Leland, NC with my husband William, and son Garrett. I graduated from UNC – Wilmington in 2002 with a B.S. in Social Work. As a social worker, I gained valuable work experience with our local pediatric community through the school systems, then through my direct work with at-risk youth in residential group homes.

I joined OT Solutions in 2003 and now lead the team as the General Manager, overseeing day to day operations, client and staff needs, and serving as a community liaison. My goal is to respond to the needs of our community by providing our patients and their families with innovative, effective occupational and speech therapy services that result in superior customer satisfaction!

Administration and Billing Manager

I am originally from Los Angeles, California, and moved to Carolina Beach, NC in 2008. I have nearly 30 years of customer service experience in the Healthcare Industry. I joined OT Solutions in 2012 as Receptionist and now as Administration and Billing Manager. I also provide translation assistance for our Spanish speaking families.

I enjoy the camaraderie of my coworkers, as well as watching our clients transform their lives. My hobbies include the beach, gardening and spending time with family and my three cats Jasper, Jab, and Petunia.

STEPHEN HAY

President

I was born in Australia and gained my Doctor Dental Surgery at Sydney University. I then practiced in London , Sydney and Jersey in the Channel Islands before retiring. I also have an interest in a finance company based in the Isle of Man UK.

My wife and I visited Wilmington in 2015 and immediately loved it . We returned 2016 to take over OT Solutions and are amazed at the wonderful work our Therapists do with your children.

ROBERT HAY

Vice-President

I was born in Australia then moved to Jersey in the Channel Islands off the coast of France. I attended school in the U.K. then college in Les Roches Switzerland where I studied hotel management.  After graduation I worked for Hilton Hotel group, north Scotland. For the last 6 years I have been living and working in Australia. I am really looking forward to this new, exciting and inspiring chapter of my life.

My favorite pastimes are tennis and snow skiing.
